I demand some money making tips for this game, to begin with everything was great i had in backlog of 70k in my coffers, now my cities are expanding at a rapid rate and near all of them are making losses. Assistance please before I owe Mr bank man

Best way is to keep expanding tbh, in cities that are in condom areas keep just a bare minimum force to save cash, to go on unhappy cities happy give them a proficient governor. Basically build in cities to maximise profit and keep your armies on the move and welll maintained. Simple advice i know simply rtw is in the doing not the talking

put taxation charge per unit on motorcar setting. Gets the max money out of em while keeping them happy. Yous tin can practise this manual but once you accept lots of citys it takes agers. Build ports and traders at every coast urban center. Cut dorsum on former troops property land in the centre of your empire. Replace them with cheaper to run troops eg pesents, milita etc ( something that cost 100 every year), I commonly do 3 units per city. Lose your mercs as they are expensive.

I practice manual. Make certain they are happy and merchandise is flowing. Cities in key spots earn alot. Even low population cities.

Make sure you upgrade ports to the max possible, same with markets/forums. Universities etc make cities more stable and happy and so you can taxation them higher

Make contacts with as many civs as you can and gear up-upwards merchandise routes

as mentioned trade is genereally my number 1 source of income, make sure that you build ports,roads and traders in all settlements with valuable resource in the area. Too if you lot are running curt of cash massacre cities when taking them over. This can cyberspace you x-15k if it's a large city.

If the merchandise road still isn't bringing in plenty, you tin can go out cities you're occupying, requite them to your enemy, then instantly retake the cities (before the enemy has a chance to put whatsoever troops in). So you tin can exterminate the populace or enslave them: Either way y'all make some easy money and get rid of squalor at the same fourth dimension.

Besides, if y'all're playing as one of the Roman factions: Bribe your rival roman factions armies/ troops: You'll get what always units made upwards the rivals army at a fraction of the toll it would cost to train.

I found that only building the basic farms (State Clearance... I think information technology was that) kept the population growth charge per unit quite low and stopped it getting out of control, it helped me control what I was spending anyhow, too build decent quality raods and markets as soon every bit y'all can, it speeds up trade and try to become some places with mines! (I could go on but I think those should help the most).

I taxed my cities to death too only I managed to keep them happy with civil buildings and large garrisons (peasants really do quite a good job because in that location are a lot of them).

Yep i kept near cities population low but they were earning me alot of money.
